BILLY MCCLEARY
Billy McCleary started his musical career early in life. At the age of four he amazed his parents playing songs by ear on an old cord organ. He found his true instrumental talent, the acoustic guitar at the age of six.
The first public appearance for Billy was at the age of nine when he played Kenny Roger’s “Sweet Music Man” in a school talent show. Although he was competing against high school students, Billy was indeed the First Place winner.
Billy used his wide range of musical influences to make his stage show diverse as possible. He could get the crowd going with hits from Clint Black, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt and his personal favorite, Garth Brooks; then turn around and awe them with James Taylor.
Billy’s newest project, “The Man I Need to Be” was recorded in Knoxville, Tennessee at GRS Studio in the spring of 2002. On this album as well as the first, Billy wrote seven of the twelve songs. The energy and message from this album has surpassed the first immeasurably. Billy is excited to be performing his new material and getting this message to the listeners, young and old alike. The response to “The Man I Need to Be” has inspired Billy to concentrate on production and distribution of this message through music.
